Wedding Temporary Tattoo Favors
78
I have been making Buttonhead custom temporary tattoos for nearly 3 years now. Over the years, I've received a lot of interesting requests, like “Can you design me a tattoo of a blue monkey riding on a tricycle”. Yes. Yes, I can. However, many of my requests lately have been from newly engaged couples looking for wedding temporary tattoos for their big day. People are getting bored with the same old uninspired wedding activities. It's time to mix things up! Temporary tattoos are easy to apply, fun to wear, and leave guests with a lasting memory that you don't need laser surgery to remove.
The Design
The classic heart, rose, and swallow images (pictured above) are my most popular designs, and I always customize the banner at no extra charge. If you really want to get slick, we can create a 100% custom design to really work some personality into the wedding theme. For only $35, I can design pretty much any idea. You name it, and I'll make it happen.
Packaging
I offer two types of packaging for these babies: standard or customized.
Standard packaging includes a set of instructions, paired with the temporary tattoo and placed securely in a clear waterproof zip bag.
Customized packaging includes the same set of instructions paired with the temporary tattoo, but also has a custom high quality card stock tag affixed to the top of the zip bag. This allows the couple an opportunity to include a special message to their guests, and gives the final favor a nice finishing touch.
How To Apply
Now, here's the fun part! Applying the tattoo is very simple.
1. Using scissors, carefully trim away the white area around the tattoo image.
2. Peel the top clear layer of plastic away from the tattoo paper. Throw the plastic away.
3. Position the tattoo where you want it to go, and hold it in place firmly for 1 minute allowing your hand to slowly heat the glue.
4. Using a sponge or towel, wet the tattoo with a conservative amount of warm water.
5. Let the warm water dissolve the tattoo paper until it gently slides away, leaving only the image on your skin.
6. Dry the tattoo with a hair dryer until it is no longer sticky on the surface.
Longevity:
Your new temporary tattoo is very durable. It can last up to a week, if you take good care of it. Avoid touching the image, even though it is tempting. Be sure to re-dry it with a hair dryer after showering and avoid covering it with clothing before it has dried again completely. Flat surfaces of the body work best for a temporary tattoo. Applying a tattoo to a jointed area of your body (ie: wrist) can cause it to crack.
Removal:
You can easily dissolve your temporary tattoo at any time with baby oil. It can also be peeled off with hot water and steam.
Reception Set Up
So, you've got these cool tattoos. What's the most efficient way to let everyone try on their new toy? I recommend setting up mini tattoo parlors at each table. If you're the crafty type, you can even build and decorate a container to hold the supplies. If you're not so crafty, your weddding planner can help with the set up.
Here's what each station will need:
-
scissors
-
a sponge or towel
-
warm water
-
a hair dryer (or a hand-held fan, if you're outlet deficient)
